About

Hi, I’m Cam — a parent, special education administrator, IEP nerd, and the creator of IEP Design Lab.

I created this space because I know how overwhelming the special education process can feel, even when you understand the system. Families deserve more than confusing acronyms, rushed meetings, and IEPs that technically check a box but don’t clearly tell the full story of a child.

My work sits at the intersection of special education law, data, instruction, and real-life advocacy — helping parents and teams understand what the IEP process is supposed to do, what questions to ask, and how to design plans that actually support access, progress, and dignity.

IEP Design Lab is here to bring more clarity, strategy, and humanity to special education — especially for students with complex support needs and disabilities that are too often misunderstood or underserved.

Because compliance matters. But clarity? That’s where the real work starts.
